EU Passporting
A CASP license in one EU member state provides passporting rights to offer services across the European Economic Area, eliminating the need for separate licenses in each jurisdiction .
VASP Transition Management
Assessing Your Regulatory Status
The VASP registration regime is being replaced by CASP licensing. We help you determine your current regulatory status and transition requirements .
Orderly Wind-Down Planning
For entities unable to obtain CASP authorization by the transition deadline, ESMA requires orderly wind-down plans . We assist in preparing these plans to ensure compliant cessation of operations.
Transition Timeline
-
January 1, 2026: VASP registration no longer sufficient for operating in the EU
-
July 1, 2026: End of transitional period; illegal to provide services without CASP authorization
Critical Warning: Applications submitted close to the deadline will not receive preferential processing. Early application is essential .

-
Administrative Penalties: Fines up to €5 million under MiCA
-
Regulatory Consequences: Blacklisting of management personnel, website takedown, and future licensing disqualification

Common Questions
Is a license in one EU country sufficient?
Yes. One of the most significant advantages of MiCA is “passporting”—the ability to provide services across the EU without separate licenses in each jurisdiction .
Can I still operate under VASP registration?
No. As of January 1, 2026, VASP registration is no longer sufficient. CASP authorization is required .
What if my CASP application is pending after the deadline?
ESMA recommends suspending activities until the application is concluded. Applications submitted near the deadline will not receive preferential treatment .
What are the capital requirements for CASPs?
Capital requirements vary from €50,000 to €150,000 depending on service complexity and risk profile .
